Find your Style in NYC Fashion’s Night Out!

Fashionistas! It’s that time of year again when New York City shows the world that it is America’s fashion capital and hot spot for designers, models, celebrities and any others who live only for fashion and haute couture! New York Fashion Week is coming up and for the fourth year in a row, it will start with Fashion’s Night Out, when everyone heads out for a night of shopping madness, while sipping on champagne and engaging in other spectacular FNO planned events that include live music with major headliners. It happens the evening of September 6th so start looking up flight and accommodation, because you don’t want to be on the outside looking in! You want to be partying with the in-crowd at Fashion’s Night Out!
About Fashion’s Night Out
An idea that was shaped back in 2009 as a way to get consumers excited about shopping, to celebrate fashion and to give a little boost to the industry’s economy, American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, New York City & Company and the City of New York collaborated on making this night happen. Now in its fourth year, the night is more successful than they ever dreamed it could be. What makes this night even more superb is that the proceeds from the sales of official FNO gear will be directed to the New York Community Trust’s New York City AIDS Fund. So it’s a night of fun, fashion and fundraising! Forty per cent of sales will go to the organization and that’s an even better reason to buy items from the collection and head to NYC and join in on this night!
The official collection that includes t-shirts and totes for both men and women and long-sleeved shirts for women, can be found in-store and online at over 300 stores. Participating retailers include men’s and women’s fashions, beauty, home and accessory shops and many other stores. If you want a sneak peak at who is on board and where to find the items from the FNO official collection you can do so by checking out the FNO New York City website at fashionsnightout.com/fno/nyc or its Facebook profile.
Fashion of course is not restricted to New York City. Last year, FNO events took place in 18 countries and there were more than 4,500 events in the U.S. alone. Celebrities, designers, models and others that are in or related to the industry made appearances at different events to help celebrate FNO around the world.
Designer Dining
Not only the retailers are open late for the shopping extravaganza, but so will the restaurants and the night clubs of course! To enjoy the FNO evening to the fullest, make time to have a delectable meal at any of New York City’s finest restaurants and dress for the occasion! It is all about fashion after all so why not go all out and be a celebrity of your own and dress to impress! Consider heading to Balthazar in Soho on 80 Spring Street (212-965-1785) and enjoy this Parisian-style brasserie. Perhaps you’ll meet an A-list celebrity there as they are known to hang out here, from Emma Roberts to Kristen Wiig; you never know who you might spot! Maybe head over to Da Silvano at 260 Sixth Avenue in Greenwich Village (212-982-2343) and maybe you’ll brush shoulders with Calvin Klein or bump into Rihanna. Make a selection from their delicious pasta dishes, or choose a mouth-watering steak. Apparently Sarah Jessica Parker loves the clams and linguine here. Who could argue with the Sex in the City star! She knows fas
hions and has great style, so she must also know good food!
